Goodbye 2008... Hello 2009

So is it just me or has this been a hard year? I am not sorry to say that I am glad to kiss 2008 goodbye. This next year can't be as hard.... can it?
Just a quick run down on this past year good and bad.
President Hinckley passed away....super sad.
My sweet hero grandpa passed away totally unexpectedly, (he was super grandpa you know the kind 10 feet tall and bullet proof.)
Braxton broke is femur bone and was in a body cast for 8 weeks. ughhhh
All the holidays with out my grampy.
My dad wrecked his brand new truck, and my dad rolled his backhoe into a pond (whew no injuries)
Rhett got laid off after 3 years of hard work, but luckily it was only 2 days before he had a new and better job.
So now I feel bad about grouching I just looked on past post's and there were alot of good moments also, I will try to concentrate on those, such as......
Baby Carver was born
I was introduced and fell in love with the Twilight Series (that could be bad as I am still so obsessed with them)
Taylor turned 12 and graduated into Young Women's (sad but good) she got to go and do baptisms for the dead.
Haegen played T-Ball
Taylor stared Middle School (waaa sad for me)
New friends made
Lot's of fun church activities planned and followed through
and much more I am sure I am missing.
It is fun to look back on my old post's and see what we did this year. I love this journaling I call Blogging, it really is a good source to look back on.
Well this has been a super long post, longer then I intended.
Here's to all of you who I call family and friend, let's make 2009 the best and most memorable year ever. Let's dedicate ourselves to service for other's so that we can become closer to Christ and live life to the fullest. I love you all and thank you for getting me through 2008 without checking me into the lunny bin. haha
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009

Christmas Eve

Well I am about a few days late on posting these pictures and it is not because we have been doing fun stuff or anything I am just a slacker.
On Christmas Eve, we always go up and put a candle on my Uncle Greg's grave. Well this year we put some candle's on my Grandpa's grave also, right next to my Uncle Greg's.
It was pretty hard. Harder then I thought it would be. I try super hard not to be an emotional person it makes me feel weak but, I haven't done so good lately on putting up my wall.
It was a different Christmas this year with my Grandpa not hear. It was good the kids all had a blast. On Christmas eve we ate with Rhett's family then went to my mom's for a bit then came home, put the kids to bed and let Santa know it was time to come, and we were in bed by 10:30 record time for us. Not to exciting but nice. Rhett got to spend all of Christmas with us seeing as he didn't have a job and all and no prospect's in the near future. The jobs I previously talked about fell through, turns out almost every one is on a hireing freeze.
But our Christmas miracle happened. Around 8:00 pm Friday night the phone rang and it was the job he was hopping for saying come right now and I can get you on. So we hurried and got all his clothes together and I made him a lunch and off he went. So we have a job again. I am so grateful I know we are the lucky ones. I am so thankful that my husband is such a hard worker and people know it and want him. Thanks babe for working so hard.

Merry Christmas 2008

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL and TO ALL A GOODNIGHT my poor small Christmas tree.
It has just been a hard day for me, I don't know why, just missing my grandpa and knowing that this is the first Christmas with out him.

a boy and his dog!
Haegen hard at work. He must watch his dad because he loves to shovel the drive way he is a hard little worker. We got alot of snow to. Rhett was shoveling all day ours neighbors grandma's, and he loved every min. of it. Crazy man.

Haegen's Christmas Program

What a handsome little devil if I say so myself. It was his Kindergarten Christmas program last week and it was so cute.

He looks tired in this one. He probably was he is not a good sleeper.
Hear they said why they have been good this year and Haegen said "I have been good this year because I help unload wood out of my Grandpa's truck". Ahhh what a good kid, and he did Rhett's dad couldn't believe that he was such a good helper so young.
Then he got to say what he wanted Santa to bring him.

Cute Pictures of Carver

Well this morning I got to spend some time with my new nephew Carver while his mom and dad went to the temple. He is such a good baby. He was so happy today. So I got alot of pictures.
Oh baby was getting tired. He made two little waaa's, Taylor put his binki in and he closed his eye's and went to sleep.
He was looking at Haegen. He likes Haegen.
More Haegen, he wouldn't look at me.
See his face is towards me but his eye's are glued on Haegen, so funny.
He finally found me.
Ohhh big smile's

Haegen likes to hold him.
So we had a good day with Carver. He is such a cutie pie.

Christmas Enrichment Night

So tonight was my Enrichment Night. I planned it on
"Come Let Us Adore Him"
I thought it went great. Thank you to all of my sister's who showed up tonight, and a special thanks to my long time best friend Joey for coming. First we sang Hark the Herald Angels Sing
Then a story by Elder Woodruff
Then we sang Silent Night
Then we read a story about how the song I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day was written, then we sang it.
Followed by a quote from Elder Ashton then I played a song called
Infant King
Then a story about Pres. Monson's most memorable childhood Christmas
followed by the movie
Reflection's of Christ
Then I played a wonderful song O Holy Night by Point of Grace.
We had donuts and hot apple cider for refreshments, and had a gift at the end.
Again thankyou for all who support what I do it means the world. Also thanks Denise for helping me wrap 60 towels and poems.

A Man and His Beard

What is it about a man and his ugly beard?!! I have the hottest hubby and he thinks that he needs to grow a big bushy ugly beard. He won't even shave it so we can get family picture's. So I guess we won't get family pictures until he shaves . lol And yes he never smiles for picture's, he always looks mean and grouchy. But, I still love him.

Update on the Compliment Board

So I am so glad that I found the article on the Compliment Board. I just put it up today and holy cow my kids were doing things with out me asking them to. For example I was busy in the other room and Bryce wanted a drink of milk I said hold on, I came in the kitchen and he already had a glass of milk. Haegen got it for him.
I notice Bryce putting the silverware away after I washed it. With out my asking.
Then before I was done eating Taylor was doing the dinner dishes, with out my asking. Oh my heavens!!!! Trying to get her to do dishes is impossible.
So I totally recommend doing this. It worked for the first day.
cue the choir.....HALLELUJAH

Happy Birthday Keaton

Happy Birthday Keaton. Today my baby brother turned 18 wow how the time has flown
I remember the day he was born I was so excited. He was my little sidekick. I was 12 years old when he was born so I was like his 2nd mom. So I am noticing that I just have really old pictures of him. He is the best kid ever. He never gets in trouble. He gets great grades in school. Helps my mom and dad when ever they need him to, and get this he even goes to church every week even my himself if my parent's are sick and can't go. (and that has been quite a bit this past year.)
He loves to hang out with his big brother and sister's.
He is just an all around great kid. He does like to tease the nieces and nephews alot though. But, that's ok what teenager doesn't tease.
So Happy Birthday Keaton keep up the good work.
We Love You

Testimony Meeting and My Lesson

So I just have to say that I thought our Testimony Meeting today at church was great!!! The spirit there was so strong and we had back to back people standing to bear their testimonies. Bishop had to stand to end it, there were no breaks. That is great. I think that I belong to such a great ward and I love all the people in it. Our ward always has such great testimonies and such wonderful and talented people belong to my ward.
So It was the Presidency's lesson in Relief Society today and it was my turn. I always get so nervous. I get so insecure thinking how do I get up and teach these wonderful women, I'm sure that they know more then me. Well, my answer is because the lesson's I give are for me and they teach me.
My lesson today was on "Come Let Us Adore Him" I felt like I needed to give a lesson on putting Christ back in the center of Christmas. It talked about simplifying and not making it such a big hustle and bustle. All the craziness takes away from the true meaning of Christmas. It also talked about teaching your family to give and to do service, that is the best way to feel Christ in our home.

President David O. McKay declared: “True happiness comes only by making others happy —the practical application of the Savior’s doctrine of losing one’s life to gain it. In short, the Christmas spirit is the Christ spirit, that makes our hearts glow in brotherly and sisterly love and friendship and prompts us to do kind deeds of service.

Pres. Monsen said “It is the spirit of the gospel of Jesus Christ, obedience to which will bring ‘peace on earth,’ because it means—good will toward all men.”
Giving, not getting, brings to full bloom the Christmas spirit. Enemies are forgiven, friends remembered, and God obeyed. The spirit of Christmas illuminates the picture window of the soul, and we look out upon the world’s busy life and become more interested in people than things. To catch the real meaning of the “spirit of Christmas,” we need only drop the last syllable, and it becomes the “Spirit of Christ.”
It is my hope that in this holiday season we can return to the true spirit of Christmas. I know that our Heavenly Father sent his only begotten son here to earth because he loved us all and wanted us all to have the chance to return to him someday. I also know that in the Christmas season it will truly bring the spirit of Christmas into your home as you teach your children service and love for your fellow neighbors. The best gift we can give our children is to learn how to have the pure love of Christ. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

The Compliment Board

I found this on lds.org and thought I would share it I think it sounds like a great idea and I am going to start it in my home.

The Compliment Board
Christy Williams, “The Compliment Board,” Ensign, Dec. 1993, 63

A poster emblazoned with the bright words “I Saw Someone Do Something Great” hangs on our refrigerator. A pen swings beside it. And filling the poster in as many different handwritings as there are people in our family are notes describing family members’ good behavior: “Laura has a great smile.” “Derek wrote a funny story.” “Jeff said, ‘I don’t want to fight right now.’ ” “Natalie got an A on her algebra test.”
Some writers compliment others in the family, and some jot down a few of their own accomplishments lest they be overlooked!
On Sunday mornings after breakfast, we go over the list for the week, reading all of each person’s entries at once and following with enthusiastic applause. As we do so, the Spirit warms our household. Not only are we looking for and seeing the best in each other (so we have something to write down), but prized behaviors are repeated!
In one family home evening lesson, we used our new skills of sharing good things about each other. Each person picked another’s name out of a hat and, reflecting on that person’s qualities and accomplishments, wrote a letter of recommendation to a possible future employer.
We read each letter aloud, chuckling and enjoying each other’s comments. For a few seconds at the end, we all paused and looked around our circle. A tender spirit of love and acceptance enfolded our family. Everyone positively glowed!—Christy Williams, Bellevue, Washington

Hubby Tag

So Mandy is making yes making me do this tag. We saw it on Michele's and it was so cute. Rhett and I just don't have a very cool starting out story. I guess I better do it though because no one really knows Rhett he really keeps to himself. So here goes.1 . Where did you meet your husband? Well we really just met through friends. I was friends with his older brother and his friend Brandon who we miss very much, this is the only picture I could find right now of Brandon and it is not a very good one.
2.How long did you date before you got married? We were friends for about a year and dated for probably 9 months before we got married.

3. How long have you been married? We will be married 13 years this May. Seems like forever but it also seems like just yesterday.

4. What does he do that surprises you? When he can tell I am feeling overwhelmed and stressed out, I will be at a Presidency meeting or something for church and I'll come home and he will have the whole house clean. I don't know why that surprises me he does it quite often.

5. What is your favorite feature of his? I think I have to say there are three that tie. anyone who knows him will agree with me on HIS EYES, then it would be his smile, and I love his strong hands.

6. What is his best quality? I think that would be his over protectiveness (is that a word)? I know that with out a doubt he will protect me and the kids. I know that no one can disrespect me in his presence, and I always know that I am safe. Little kids also love him.

7. Does he have a nickname for you? honey or sweets

8. What is his favorite food? anything that is meat! He is a pretty picky eater. Thanks to his grandma who lived next door and spoiled him rotten.

9. What is his favorite sport? uhhh any one who knows Rhett will know it's hunting

10. When and where did you first kiss? okay this is a hard one for me to remember. Any one who knows me knows that I am not a very sentimental person. I think it was at his house outside in front of the garage and his dad flipped off and on the porch light. I was so embarrassed.

11. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? I guess anything that we get to do with out the kids. We mostly go hunting or ridding four wheelers together.

12. Do you have any children? girl 12, boy 6, boy 4.

13. Does he have any hidden talents? Yes he can tune the whole world out and not hear a thing when his hunting shows are on lol

14. How old is he? 31

15. Who said I love you first? him

16. What is his favorite music? Rock and Country depends on his moods

17. What do you admire most about him? That he works hard for us and takes pride in everything that he does.

18. What is his favorite color? Red

19. Will he read this? not unless I show him and he will be embarrassed. haha

20. Who will I tag next? Brianna, Tajia, and whoever wants to do it.

Better The Second Time

So I went to see Twilight again tonight. I thought it was so much better the second time. I am so glad that my cousin Hillary hasn't seen it yet so that gave me an excuse to go again. I liked it so much more I think because I tried to not compare it to the book so much. So thanks for going with me Hill and oh ya it was great to see an old friend there to. Great to see you Tara, thanks for letting me sit by you.

Holy Lot's of Food

Yeah for Thanksgiving. It was a strange year though it. It didn't quite seem like Thanksgiving. We were missing a few key people. My little brother Dillon went to his in law's out of town, My little sister Danielle also went to her in law's and Nathen had homework and had to work tomorrow so he decided to stay home. Most important my dear sweet grandpa who passed away last February. We missed his presence. When Auntie Bella comes home from school we always have a big art session. Amanda is going to school to be an Interior Designer so she is drawing alot and Haegen likes to draw also and always decides he needs an art session. He loves it.
Check out all the food we had tons of left overs. I don't know what the deal it either we don't have as many people as we used to or we just don't eat as much. (it must be the first)
More food
Of course the Dessert Table YUMMY
My little sister and my dad
My little brother Keaton and my mom
Then it was out to do some Skeet shooting.
Haegen took advantage of shooting the bbgun he got for his birthday from Uncle Keaton. We keep it locked up with Rhett's gun's and he only gets to shot it when we go shooting.
Then we have Rhett and Keaton waiting for Haegen to pull the Skeet. Rhett had to hurry and get his shooting done because he had to go to work.
Haegen and Wyatt were in charge of pulling for the big boys. I even got out there and shot. I didn't do to badly for hardly ever shooting any more. We had a fun day. I'm an thankful that my family lives close enough to be able to spend time with them.
I love all of you.

Family Fun

So today the boys and I went with Rhett to the mountain to check his trap's. I was planning on sitting in the truck with my book that I have been trying to get started ( The Host), and let Rhett and the boys take off on the four wheeler. Well...... Rhett oh come on that's no fun sitting in the truck, come on. So I went with them and to my surprise Rhett let me drive the four wheeler (he is usually a freak about driving because he like to get where he's going and fast). So I'm driving Rhett is behind me and the boys are on either side of Rhett on the rack sitting on a blanket for some cushion. ( i know safe right). Rhett was hanging on to their legs. Well all was going good on the way down then on the way back, oh my heavens.
All of a sudden Rhett yells wait!!! Whooby fell off. I thought ya right turned to look and Bryce is jumping up off the ground and running for us. It was so sad. He ran up to me and I grabbed him and held him, he was trying so hard not to cry but he started to cry, he was hanging on to me with a death grip, it must have scared him. I felt so bad it was so sad so I kept him up front with me.
Then we came to a hill I think no problem. Well problem, I start going up it and the front tires start coming up. Oh crap!!! Rhett fell off the back and was trying to grab Haegen out of the way and I put the brakes on they moved and I rolled down. Easy right, what a day. Rhett jammed his hand when he fell, sorry hunny.
Last the boys and Rhett went walking down this gully and I was supposed to met them at this one place. So I am sitting there waiting and sort of freaked myself out thinking what if a Mountain Lion came up to me lol, witch one didn't. Then the boys come walking up and Bryce has blood all over his mouth. I said what happened did you fall? He said no a stick poked me in my mouth.
Holy Cow what a day and they loved every min. of it.
Oh and no Rhett did not catch anything, unless you want to count a skunk.

Hummmmm????

So tonight I went to the big Twilight movie. My gal pal Mandy and I found out that the ticket's were on sale this past Monday so of course we ran right down to buy them.
Well today Mandy got super sick she has Bronchitis. Sad, she was thinking about still going but decided that she did not feel well enough. I was super sad, I was looking forward to a fun night with her.
Well she said she would give her ticket to whom ever I found to go with me. So I called me new gal pal Tajia and she was more then happy to go with me.
So we got there an hour early and it wasn't to bad. I thought it would be a mad house. Well just let me say, YES the BOOK was better of course. It was good but the book was so much better.
I got thinking about how good the Harry Potter movies are so I thought hummm I bet the books are better I should read them.
Well thanks for going with me Tajia it was fun, and get better Mandy, thanks for giving up your ticket. I felt so bad all night that you were to sick to go. I know you must be super sick to miss it.

Can't Wait for Girl Night

So I got thinking that the last time I went to the movie's with girlfriends was forever ago. The movie was White Noise with Kevin Costner. Joey Amber and I went. I thought wait a min. that can not be the last time so I called Joey to see if I was forgetting a time and she said nope that sounds about right. Don't get me wrong we have been with our kids and she has gone with her hubby, but man how sad is that. So tomorrow night Mandy and I get our big girl's night out at the movie and yep you guessed what movie TWILIGHT. Yeahhhhh. I will blog about how much fun we had. Check back, I'm sure we will have tons of fun, (doing nothing but chat in and watchin our movie)

Taylor's First Time Doing Temple Work

Last night was Young Women's and Sis. Amanda told us that it was the youth baptism for the dead. So she came and picked up Taylor and they went to the Bishop interview so she could get her recommend and they went to the Temple. She didn't say much when she got home but she never does. (trying to get this child to talk is like pulling teeth). I know that she had a great experience, I always did when I would go with the youth. Only we didn't have a temple in our little town. We had to travel 3 fun hours to go. That was always fun. What teenager wouldn't think it was fun to travel 3 hours with your friends, now the leader's on the other hand, (I'm sorry for my leaders :0)
I hope that Taylor realizes the important of the work that she did last night. I told her to go and wright about it in her journal, I hope she did.

So this past Saturday for enrichment we made these frames. It was alot of fun and I am glad that we all got together, we will have to do another fun craft soon. These are the 8x10 frames I made for my wall
These are the ones I made for my mom for Christmas whoops I hope she doesn't see them before then.

Then I made these ones for my mother in law for Christmas. It was fun now I want to do more.
