4th of JULY NIGHT

Well, we all gathered at grandma's house for hamburgers and fireworks. Everyone has their spot picked on the lawn and Wyatt our pro firework lighter is busy at keeping the preshow going. Everyone had a lot of fun. We missed you Amanda and Hillary, you'll have to join us next year.

Our Little Baby Luke was scared of all the loud noise. Not to mention it was past his bedtime. He sat on my lap with his poor little heart racing.

Bryce could not keep his eyes off of the fireworks. He would say mom more firework, more fireworks.

So we had a good time and we all know that we will be at the same place next year.

One of My Hero's

So all day today I have been thinking about my Hero, my Grandpa!! He just passed away a few months ago. It was so unexpected to all of us. Granted he was 86 years old but he was in better shape than all of us. He was the type of person that you new wouldn't die. He was one of the greatest men I have ever known. He was so strong in his faith, and so strong in family unity. We also new with out a doubt that he was proud to be an AMERICAN. If we had a question about the church or about politics then we new to just call grandpa. Another reason he has been on my mind is every year since I can remember we would all meet at Grandpa and Grandma's house to watch the fire works.

So tonight as we celebrate our freedom, it will be bitter sweet because there will be an empty chair where my Hero use to sit. So here's to you grandpa thank you for your part in helping us obtain freedom, we miss you and love you!!

The Things Kids Say:

So I guess what all the preschool and primary teachers say is true... Haegen needs Bryce. The other day Haegen told me that he could not get to sleep in his bed so he and his Build a Bear went up stairs to sleep on the couch. Then he told me that he pretended that his Build a Bear was Bryce, so he could get to sleep. How cute is that, I'm glad that they are so close.
Yesterday Haegen was not being very nice to everyone, so I tried to explain to him that he is letting the devil in...well he then said aah, get out devil and hit his head (he was being somewhat silly), then I tried to tell him "every time you fell the devil trying to get in then start to sing a primary song because the devil hates primary song's and he will leave." So over the next few hours I heard Haegen singing I Am a Child Of God. So I guess he does listen to what I say. He tries really hard to make the right choices. He is a good kid.
My little Bryce is such a couk some of the stuff he says is funny. His new thing is you annoyin me, and when it's time to clean we get to hear I can't my leg broke.

SPLASH PARK

Well we finally made it to the splash park for the first time this summer. The kids are always perfectly content putting the sprinkler under the trampoline and jumping, so that's what they do. Well today Joey and I decided to get out of the house, so we went and had a good ol time in the sun. It's about time I got some sun. Well we had a good day and I'm sure the kids will sleep good tonight, they ran around like crazy. Okay Joey and Brianna when is the next play date, you let me know.

Gone Fishin,

So today Rhett woke up and said "let's go fishing", so we went to the store to get goodies and grabbed the bug spray, and headed for the Green River. Rhett caught a 9 pd cat fish and the kids took turns reeling it in we thought the line was going to break.
The Kids were so excited.
More pictures of the BIG catch
We had a great day spending time with each other and enjoying the weather. The kids brought their bikes so they can ride back and forth from the big tree, and Grama Pete's.

Baby Birds

So Monday morning Bryce came in the house with a baby bird he had found at the neighbor's house in the bushes. So they all had to see how cute they were, and after allot of explaining how they need their mommy, they went to put them back, but now the birds would follow them home. Well finally we found the nest were the mom was and we put them in it. Haegen said that when he grows up he is going to be a Veterinarian, and yes as you can tell the boys live in their swimsuits.

Relax

Sunday afternoon, Rhett was putting together a porch swing with the boys of course they always have to be in the middle of tools. Well after the swing was put together it got cloudy and the kids were off playing, so I decided to go lay on the swing, all by myself, it was a first. I looked around at all the beauty around me and was thinking how grateful I was to be here, with a wonderful family, and a nice home, and to be able to sit and enjoy it. The old saying "take time to smell the roses" came to mind. My life gets so crazy that I forget to just go and sit down and remember why we work so hard-to enjoy days like these.
